Why We Added a Vancouver Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Office

While Sunshine Coast Health Centre remains committed to providing drug rehab and alcohol treatment in Powell River, we also recognize the importance of having local Vancouver-based support. Our Vancouver office offers counselling and recovery services by appointment. You may also phone our Vancouver office to register for our primary addiction treatment programs in Powell River, BC. During this call, we tell clients and/or their family members what to expect while staying in our treatment centre and help them begin their own journey of healing and growth.

Our Vancouver-based alumni also regularly meet with fellow alumni for weekly support at this office and in other locations throughout the city.

Are you an alumni? Contact our alumni manager to connect with your alumni peers in Vancouver.

Vancouver, BC: Some History

When the CPR announced Vancouver would be the railway’s terminus, the town’s population was about 400 (four years after the railway arrived, it was 13,000). Incorporation came April 6, 1886 at a modest ceremony in Jonathan Miller’s house. A civic election followed quickly. A month later in the first meeting of Vancouver’s first city council was the drafting of a petition to lease from the federal government a 1,000-acre military reserve to be used by the city as a park, known today as Stanley Park.

The entire center, the staff, the owners, you know I couldn’t possibly pick the best part. They were all instrumental in helping me turn things around.
