1) All Regular Program and Trauma Program clients receipt up to 2 nights in the detox unit. Rooms in the detox unit may not be private.
Trauma Program includes trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR, neurofeedback and hypnotherapy as well as weekly appointments with the trauma psychotherapist and the psychiatrist. Trauma Program participants also receive weekly trauma-specific group therapy and psycho-education.
2) Minimum stay in the Alumni Program is 14 days. Clients requiring detoxification are charged an extra $200 per night. Clients in the Alumni Program must have previously attended our program.
3) Couples Program participants must first complete the Family Program. Both events are run on consecutive days.

Fees listed above do not include 5% Goods & Services Tax (GST). A non-refundable deposit of $1000 is required to hold a bed for a specific date and will be applied towards the cost of treatment upon admission. Goods and services covered in the Regular and Trauma Programs include pick up/return to the Powell River airport or ferry terminal upon arrival/discharge, accommodation, meals, counselling service (including group and individual therapy, education, etc.), the Family Program, Online Support Program, routine nursing consultations, on-site wellness therapies, arts and craft materials, assigned reading materials and transportation to scheduled off-site activities. Use of laundry facilities and soap is provided at no additional cost.
Our rates do not include adjunct therapies not provided on campus (i.e. acupuncture, chiropractic, etc.), airfare, dental work, prescription drugs, and personal items. American clients will be charged for medical services (contact admissions if this applies to you).

To facilitate Regular, Trauma or Detox Only clients arriving at Vancouver International Airport or Comox Valley Airport, Sunshine Coast Health Center offers free travel assistance. Clients need not worry about luggage and shuttling between terminals: a staff member will be there to ensure your trip is hassle-free.
Free travel assistance is also available for American clients entering Canada by automobile at the Blaine, Washington border crossing.
For clients arriving from the United States and overseas, travel insurance is recommended to cover unforeseen emergencies that require hospitalization. Travel insurance policy rates start at CAD $2 per day for clients 19 to 40 years old. When purchasing your travel insurance, please ensure coverage for your entire stay in British Columbia. Please contact your local insurance agency for assistance.
METHOD OF PAYMENT
Sunshine Coast Health Center accepts cheque or money order issued by a Canadian bank, wire transfer, Visa, Mastercard and American Express. For further info, please feel free to contact Admissions toll free 1.866.487.9010.
US DOLLAR CURRENCY EXCHANGE
Clients paying with a US credit card will be charged in Canadian dollars. The actual amount paid will be indicated on the credit card statement following an exchange rate adjustment as determined by the credit card company. Wire transfers for clients paying in US dollars will be based on the Canadian/American dollar exchange rate at the time of transfer. Sunshine Coast does not accept cheques issued by banks outside of Canada.
Clinical Addiction Services
Based on cutting-edge research on bio-psycho-social components of recovery, with a special focus on helping clients live a personally meaningful life. Program is evaluated regularly by in-house and independent researchers.
Counselling with master's level clinical counsellors (includes small group therapy, individual therapy, and the latest in addiction education)
Each client has an assigned counsellor responsible for his individual programming
Individualized case consultations provided by a skilled team including our Medical Director, Psychiatrist, and Program Director.
Special program content for clients struggling with mental health, trauma, gambling addiction, sex addiction, etc.

Refresher program visits for sober alumni looking to reconnect with staff & participate in group. Typical stay for refresher program is 2 days.

A. FAMILY & COUPLES PROGRAM
The Family & Couples Program is free and is open to anyone 12 and older. Please note that having a family member attending programs at Sunshine Coast Health Center is not required. However, participants in the Monday Couples Program must have a spouse/partner attending our residential program.
